My Training
My Story

I am married & the mother of two grown children. I was blessed to have grown up with my aunt being a Certified Nurse Midwife. I spent a lot of time at her home reading every childbirth book I could get my hands on as a teenager. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that women have many options today for the way they want to bring their children into the world.

Our daughter was born in a hospital with a Certified Nurse Midwife, unmedicated & with very few interventions. Our son was born at home with a Direct Entry Midwife. I was very blessed to have experienced 2 wonderful births at nature's own pace.

As soon as our son was born, I knew that I wanted to find a way to help other women experience birth in the way they want (as long as mother & baby are handling labor/birth without serious complications). I strongly believe our bodies are designed to give birth & will normally do so, if allowed the time & support that women need.

Although every woman does not desire a natural, unmedicated birth, many women whom feel they can not endure the pain, could very possibly do so if provided the right informational, physical & emotional support. They may even be surprised to discover how well they can handle the intensity of labor. They may not fully realize the level of empowerment that can come from surrendering to the normal process of labor & childbirth.

I am holding baby Gabriella, born March 2009.

I proudly serve East-Central Indiana including, but not limited to, the cities of New Castle, Anderson, Muncie, Greenfield, Richmond & Rushville.

I have experience assisting 1st time moms, 2nd time moms, seasoned moms, hospital & homebirths, VBACs(vaginal birth after cesareans), water births, natural, unmedicated births, epidural births & prolonged labors.

I feel that every birth is a miracle & I am honored to be a part of each & every one!!

In my spare time you might find me reading, working in my vegetable garden, talking to my chickens or making all natural soaps and lip balms.
